AVOW Volunteers at Focus Wales

Thank you to the amazing volunteers who kept everyone safe and happy at Focus Wales on the Weekend (6-8th of May). We were especially happy to see one of our young influencers supporting the crew!

The volunteer already gave their time volunteering at AVOW. In one of their regular meetings with our Volunteer Development Manager, Amy, they mentioned they were doing sound at Coleg Cambria, and would love experience. Amy connected them with Focus Wales, and these volunteers gained some amazing experience for the future.

As Wrexham works towards their bid for City of Culture, volunteering will form an important and vital part of that work. Volunteers support all kinds of cultural events throughout Wrexham city, from events like Focus Wales, through to being trustees on charitable boards. Without volunteers, many of the amazing events around the city simply wouldn’t happen. It is volunteers like those that Focus Wales that help make poetry evenings happen, that support board game days, and help ensure the city celebrates with pride.

If you would like more information about volunteering, or need support to get started on your volunteering journey, don’t hesitate to contact our volunteer centre on volunteer@avow.org
