Community Development Officer Travels (July, 2026)
Our Community Development Officer, Amy, has been out and about all through Wrexham over the past month, visiting everywhere from Story Brymbo through to Handlesbanken.
Here’s a quick look at what they’ve been up too.
Stepping Stones

It was a pleasure to attend the Stepping Stones volunteers week event. Amy said it was especially inspiring to hear from Jennie Henderson who is the 2025 Benefact Trustee of the year and was recognised for exceptional leadership and dedication.
You can learn more about the Benefact Group on their website.

Blind Bowling Club
Amy visited the Bellvue Blind Bowling Club.
Bellvue Blind Bowls Club is a new community club for blind / visually impaired persons meeting weekly at Bellvue Park Wrexham. For more information, or if you’d like to get involved, you can reach out to AVOW on helo@avow.org.

Bradley Bowls Club Delivering Recognition Certificates

It was a pleasure to present volunteers at Bradley Bowls club and Active 8 community gym with recognition certificates today. Both essential community sports organisations run entirely by volunteers!

Stori Brymbo – Celebrating creatives
We celebrated the beautiful wall hanging created by community group Brymbo creatives, the first exhibition at Stori Brymbo this week!

Handels Banken Networking Event
Handels Banken Networking Event
It was great to work with Handels Banken who welcomed local business and third sector organisations to a Grosvenor road networking event last week. We heard about all the great things that all the organisations do for the communities and discussed how they can work together for greater impact!
There were representatives of charities like AVOW, Stepping Stones, Bawso,Wrexham Citizens Advice and Wrexham Islamic Cultural Centre.
There were representatives from many local and national businesses there as well, all with the common goal of supporting the voluntary and community sector in Wrexham.
