Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Volunteer Star Awards?

The aim of the programme is to reward and recognise the effort and time spent by volunteers volunteering in the Wrexham County Borough.

What will I receive if I register on the programme?

Volunteers will receive certificates after the following number of hours:

  • 10 Hours
  • 50 Hours
  • 100 Hours
  • 200 Hours
  • 500 Hours
  • Outstanding Commitment
  • Long Service Award
How long does it take to complete?

There is no time limit.  We can even back date up to 50 hours worth of hours, as long as the organisation you volunteer can support the time claimed.

Do I have to write long reports or keep a huge portfolio to get the award?

No!  You simply record your hours on timesheets which are then verified by the organisation you volunteer for.  AVOW will then provide your awards when you submit your timesheets and hit a milestone.

OK I’m interested, what do I do now?

To register on the programme all you have to do is inform the AVOW Volunteer Centre that you have started volunteering.  If you haven't registered with the Volunteer Centre please complete the registration form. (LINK REGISTRATION FORM)
