David Thompson was appointed to the Board of Trustees in March 2016 and is currently the Chairman of the Policy Committee at AVOW.

David started his career as a Geography and Economics teacher, teaching both subjects to A-Level. He was subsequently appointed as a Senior Manager of a secondary school in Wrexham and served over 20 years as both Deputy Head and Head. He is currently involved with the organisation of 14-19 education in Wrexham which provides opportunities for secondary pupils to study vocational subjects. He is also a Governor at both St Christopher’s Special School and Ysgol Rhiwabon where he Chairs the Governors Curriculum Committee.
