The Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW) are facilitating Holocaust Memorial Open Day to include a memorial service featuring various speakers between 11.00 am – 12.00 pm.
Each year Holocaust Memorial Day activity in the UK is underpinned by a specific UK-wide theme chosen by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust. For 2023, the theme is ‘Ordinary People’. This will be the theme of the commemoration, headlined by poet Adam Kammerling.
Adam Kammerling is an award-winning poet and educator based in London. His debut collection, ‘Seder,’ reinvigorates the Jewish Passover ritual to retell a contemporary story of Jewish survival.
All are welcome to attend this event to remember those affected by genocide and remind ourselves why we must ensure events such as the Holocaust must never happen again.
Exhibition stands will be available for viewing from 10.30 am – 11.00 am. Following the memorial service, there will be lunch with food from around the world.
