Wrexham Council Concessionary Travel Cards Drop-in Sessions
Wrexham Council Drop-in sessions to help residents update Concessionary Travel Cards
It has been confirmed that the website is now back up and running and bus pass users are being asked in the first instance to go online and fill out an application for renewal.
This process should take around six to seven minutes to reapply and also offers residents the chance to update their photographs.
However, to assist residents who are unable to access the internet, Wrexham Council have announced that drop-in sessions will be take at Contact Wrexham.
The sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday for four weeks commencing on Tuesday 8th October 2019. During that time staff will be on hand to assist with the application process.
Applicants who qualify for a disabled travel pass with a companion entitlement should visit Contact Wrexham to complete their new application.
Applicants should ensure that they bring up to date evidence of supporting eligibility and are able to provide their National Insurance number.
The “new-style cards” offer the same free travel rights and benefits as the current cards” and are designed so that they can work as part of an integrated travel network in the future.”
It is hoped that residents will be reassured that they have nothing to fear about obtaining a new pass, and should continue to enjoy making every-day journeys using public transport”.
The process to replace a pass that becomes lost, damaged or stolen can be done at any time in Contact Wrexham and this procedure remains unchanged.
For those people unable to attend a drop in session, a small number of paper application forms are available which can be collected from Contact Wrexham. Alternatively application forms can be obtained by telephoning 0300 303 4240.
The current bus passes remain valid and will continue working until 31st December and can be renewed up until that date.
