Wrexham Area Civic Society
Date: 15th March
Location: Tŷ AVOW, 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham
THOMAS TELFORD” is the title of a presentation to be given to the Wrexham Area Civic Society on Thursday 15th March, 2018. It will be given by Mr. Graham Greasley.
Graham makes a welcome return to the Civic Society. He is a member of the Chirk Historical Society, and gives conducted tours of Chirk and of the Dee and Ceiriog valley areas. He has also written about the history of Chirk and its environs. No doubt the Llangollen canal and its aqueducts will feature largely in his presentation.
The Civic Society holds a number of talks throughout the winter season. All are open to non-members. A forthcoming talk is “Acton Park – the Rise and Fall of an Urban Estate; the History of Acton Park, Wrexham, from 1300 to 2000” by Alister Williams. This will be on Thursday 19th April (following our AGM). All our meetings take place at AVOW, at 7.15pm, and last until about 9.00pm.
