First Minister of Wales, Carwyn Jones said:

“After the successful award of the first round of Wales for Africa Grant scheme to a diverse range of projects, I am delighted to announce the second round which covers grants from £500-£5000 and one multi-year grant of up to £50,000 over 3 years. Small grants from our Wales for Africa programme have transformed the lives of thousands of people in Africa whilst benefiting people here – from reducing infant mortality rates in Uganda to increasing the number of children who stay in school. I encourage community groups and organisations to bid for a share of this funding and work with us so we can continue to improve the lives of people in Africa.”

Funding will be allocated under 4 thematic areas:

Up to £230,000 is available per year with an annual minimum of £50,000 dedicated to health activities. A funding round of medium grants between £5,000 and £15,000 will be available in Spring 2019.
