Volunteer Drop in Wrexham

Volunteer Drop in Wrexham

The next monthly drop in for people who are looking to volunteer in the Wrexham area will be held on Tuesday 7th May from 10.00am – 12.00pm at Ty AVOW, Egerton Street, Wrexham. The drop-in is an ideal way for people who may want to volunteer to meet a wide range of organisations all at once to find suitable opportunities.

Pete who came along last month has now found two different types of placements that he is enjoying. Pete said “My family circumstances changed and I found that I had time on my hand but I also wanted to do something to meet other people. I had heard of the AVOW Volunteer Centre and went along and ended up signing up for two groups. One gets me out and about in the fresh air and the other is a befriending service. I would strongly recommend anyone to attend as there is something for everyone”.

Vicky Hand from AVOW said “We have a range of organisation each month to ensure that there is potentially some opportunities for everyone no matter what their age or ability there will be an organisation wanting volunteer time and skills always looking”.

There are representatives from the following organisations available to chat with on the 7th May-

Clwyd Special Riding; Deafblind; Princes Trust; Victim Support; Call Helpline

ICAN Centre; Vision Support ; Wrexham Youth and Play Partnership (WYPP) ; The Venture; Alzheimer’s Society; Prime Cymru; Wrexham Integrated Volunteer Programme (WIVP)

Pop along for a coffee and a chat.- For further information contact vb@avow.org or 01978 312556

If you can’t make 7th May the next session will be 4th June with a different set of organisations.
