Talking Future Generations Report

Dear Colleague,

You may have joined me at one of my stakeholder events that were held across Wales this summer.

As I outlined, my first priority in taking up this new role has been to get out and about listening to you and the wide-range of views about what’s needed to support public bodies in getting to grips with the Well-being of Future Generations Act.

I have listened and learned a lot about the things we need to change to improve the well-being of future generations and the ways my office can help.

Amongst the many issues you raised, you told me people get frustrated at the lack of feedback from such events and so I have published a report giving an overview of this engagement.  The report, entitled ‘Talking Future Generations: the conversation so far’ is available here. As you will see, it has provided me with a wealth of information, insight and ideas to build up on as I work with my team to develop my priorities for the work going forward.

My aim is to build an ongoing conversation with people as we develop these key areas for us all to focus on to build the Wales We Want.

Please keep an eye on my website www.futuregenerations.wales for opportunities to get involved, or if you would like to make a specific suggestion about how you would like to take part please email contactus@futuregenerations.wales.

Best wishes,

Sophie Howe
Future Generations Commissioner Wales
