Spring Clean Cymru 2018
Keep Wales Tidy’s Spring Clean Cymru aims to encourage people across Wales to get together this St David’s Day to clean up their local areas, beaches and rivers – bringing home to people that plastics and other waste ends up in our oceans because of irresponsible littering.
Community groups, schools and businesses will be taking part in four days of action from 1 – 4 March 2018. The campaign is part of the Great British Spring Clean which is supported by TV naturalist and writer Steve Backshall, the BAFTA-winning Deadly 60 presenter.
Steve said: “Litter dropped in a British street is a horror show for wildlife; so many animals are injured and even die from the things we throw away. This is such an important issue and I’m proud to be supporting the campaign.”
Lesley Jones, Chief Executive for Keep Wales Tidy, said: “We know a good quality environment matters to people and the benefits can have a big impact on our communities, health and well-being and economy. That’s why we want to inspire the people of Wales to get outdoors, be proud and help care for where they live. Just two hours spent picking up litter can make a huge difference to the local environment.”
