Shared Values for the ‘Play Workforce’ in Wrexham

Wrexham’s Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDCP) is leading on work to develop a set of shared values that can be used to underpin professional development opportunities for the ‘play workforce’. The Welsh Government describes the wider play workforce as “encompassing anyone employed whose role has an impact on children playing – those who may facilitate their play, design for playing, or those with the power to give permission for children to play, or not”.

The draft shared values which we would like you to comment on have been developed based on feedback from a series of workshops that were attended by a diverse range of professionals, included strategic directors, service managers and front line staff.

These shared values are intended to describe the way in which people should think about children, their childhoods and adult responsibilities towards them when working in supporting of their right to play. The values should therefore be considered as a whole but we would like your comments on the wording of each.
