About AVOW

Pitch your idea to the Youth Led Grant Panel for £500/£1000!

Wrexham Volunteer Centre has recently been awarded extra monies for its Youth Led Grants Scheme from Wales Council for Voluntary Action.

The Welsh Government has identified 5 priority areas which have the potential to make the greatest difference to long term prosperity and wellbeing.

1.       Early Years

2.       Housing

3.       Social care

4.       Mental Health

5.       Skills and employability.

a.       Applicants must be aged between 14 – 25yrs

b.      Be based or studying in Wrexham County Borough

c.       Be linked to a voluntary or community Group

If organisations are funded they should be:

a.       Legally constituted with a governing document that is signed and adopted (the objectives of the project should fit with their constitution)

b.      Be independent of government and private sectors

c.       Have a bank account in the name of the organisation, which requires at least two signatures.

However, if you are representing an informal group of young people, consideration will be given to paying the grant to an eligible organisation that will support you, or in exceptional circumstances the Volunteer Centre will consider paying invoices directly to suppliers

The decision to fund a project will be made by the AVOW Volunteer Centre Grants Panel.

I have attached a copy of the Grant Application Form and the Application Guidelines.

Application Forms need to be back no later than Friday 8th February 2019.
