National Outcomes Framework for Youth Work
The Welsh Government is asking about their plans for a new National Outcomes Framework for Youth Work in Wales. The proposals are relevant to those who provide Youth Services to young people aged 11-25 years.
Youth work often has a great effect on young people’s lives. Youth workers work with young people in many different ways.
In February the Deputy Minister for Education and Skills launched the Wales Charter for Youth Work. This is the minimum offer of youth work that the Welsh Government expects to be available to young people across Wales.
The Welsh Government now need to make sure that everything listed in the charter is available to young people across all of Wales. So to help them and youth work organisations, such as local authorities and voluntary youth work organisations to check, they have developed an Outcomes Chart.
The Welsh Government also wants to know if:
- They should develop a tool kit that all youth work projects should use to evaluate their work. This would mean everyone is checking their work in the same way.
- They should do a national survey of young people’s views and experiences of youth work in Wales today.
Young Wales is gathering your views to feed back to Welsh Government and would be grateful if you could have a look at the consultation document and complete the below survey by 30th June.
