Mental Health and Legal Aid – Mind Campaign
Have you or someone you know recently needed advice and support with legal problems such as housing, debt, welfare benefits, social care, employment and family law?
Mind is planning a campaign to influence a government review of recent cuts to legal aid. To do this we need your stories of trying to access legal aid and how this impacted on your health.
We know that people with mental health problems are more likely to experience social issues – but cuts to legal aid mean it’s now much harder to access advice, support, and representation to deal with these common problems.
Mind wants to hear your experiences of seeking help and advice, even if you weren’t able to get the help you needed. We want to know:
* What help did you need?
* Did you get the help you needed?
* Was the problem fixed?
* Did this experience affect your mental health?
If you or someone you know is interested in sharing their experiences if they can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can call 02920 346589
