Magic Little Grants
Localgiving, in partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery, has launched a small grants scheme aimed at local charities and community groups whose income is under £50,000. Preference will be given to groups with an annual income of under £20k.
The scheme is called Magic Little Grants and eligible groups can apply for a grant of either £250 or £500. The group’s work must meet the fund’s aim of encouraging individuals to take part in some form of physical activity to help improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing.
To benefit from funding, projects need to meet either of the following themes:
- Overcoming barriers to participation in physical activities in creative ways
- Increasing social cohesion through developing access to sports and other recreational activities
Grants can be used to support the general running costs of new and existing sports and physical activities. For example, this could include: facilities hire, kit & equipment, coaching qualifications, other volunteer expenses etc.
As part of the grant, eligible groups can get a year’s FREE membership of Localgiving, worth £96. Please note: Organisations MUST register to join Localgiving as part of the application for a Magic Little Grant.
I have attached the fund’s guidelines to this email. Do spread the word among any small scale groups (under £50k, preferably under £20k) that you support.
Groups wishing to apply should visit http://grants.localgiving.org/pct. Turnaround is quick with applications being considered every month. The first round of applications will be assessed during the first week of September. The fund is open until 31st of October.
