Launch of the ‘What Works’ financial capability fund – Wales

Money Advice Bi

In 2016/17 the Money Advice Service aims to contribute up to £7m to fund and evaluate programmes and pilots in Wales and across the UK to deepen our understanding of what types of interventions can make a real difference to people’s financial capability. In June we will be holding a series of events to mark the launch of a ‘What Works’ financial capability fund.

In Wales, we will be holding the event in:

Llandrindod Wells
Tuesday 7th June, 12.30 – 3.30 (Lunch at 12)

Powys Room, Metropole Hotel

In allocating this funding, we will be guided by the priorities already identified by the Financial Capability Strategy for Wales and across the UK. We are interested in the evaluation  of existing interventions designed to help people to improve their financial capability, and also in the funding of analysis into existing interventions that could be proved to be scaleable. A third area of priority is the piloting of new, innovative approaches to engage and help people improve their financial capability.

There will also be a webinar available…

Webinar (open to all)
3rd June, 11:00 – 12:30

Instructions on how to join will be sent following registration – Register here

For further information on the funding please join us at one of the events detailed above or register for the webinar on the 3rd June. Places at the events will be limited, but we will run further webinars if the demand is there. The events will go into detail about criteria for applications and next steps and will allow time for a Q&A.
