HUMAN RIGHTS BENEATH THE HEADLINES
WCVA is partnering with the British Institute of Human Rights at short notice to bring their event, Human Rights Beneath the Headlines to Wales for the first time.
The event, Human Rights Beneath the Headlines, will be chaired by Ruth Marks, WCVA’s Chief Executive and will take place on Thursday, 5 March, 18:00-19:30 at WCVA’s head office at Baltic House, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff, CF10 5FH. This event is part of WCVA’s contribution to working with stakeholders to raise the profile of human rights in Wales. I wanted to let you know as soon as possible given Coalition discussions around this agenda over the last year.
Places are free but limited so please register your interest on the British Institute of Human Rights website here – https://www.bihr.org.uk/Event/beneath-the-headlines-cardiff
In the event, we will look at some of the big issues that continue to feature in reporting, as well as recent human rights stories in 2015. This event includes lots of time for audience questions and discussion. Audience members are encouraged to email BIHR with their questions about human rights stories and cases featuring in the media, and panellists will address these. Questions can be sent to Nandi on firstname.lastname@example.org
Over the next few days, WCVA will also be:
- Publicising the event on our website and through the newsletter
- Sending out a mailing on Wednesday
- Uploading a blog about the event mid week
- Using social media to promote
We’d be really grateful if you could cascade information about the event (and any subsequent information through the marketing channels above) to your networks and contacts and encourage people you work with and support to come along and attend. In the meantime, we attach the event flyer to promote the event. (English and Welsh version attached)
