EU Settlement Scheme roundtable discussion
The Home Office is designing communications to support the third sector in Wales with the roll-out of the settlement scheme for vulnerable EU citizens.
EU citizens will need to go through a digital application process which will confirm their status in the UK for as long as they want to stay. The Home Office will begin that process later this year to get everyone through in good time. More information is available here: https://eucitizensrights.campaign.gov.uk/
Ensuring that vulnerable groups are supported to easily protect their status in the UK is a core element in the design of the Settlement Scheme and we are supporting the Home Office to help ensure this happens. We would really welcome your insight and so wanted to see if you are interested in taking part in an early consultation around communications activities for the sector. The Home Office will be hosting a roundtable for select organisations on the 20th November from 13:30 until 16:00. The session will take place at WCVA, Baltic House, Mount Stuart Square, Cardiff, CF10 5FH. Typical participants in these workshops would be communications or strategy leads.
This workshop will give your organisation the opportunity to shape and be involved in the government’s plans to ensure every EU citizen applies for the settlement scheme, and is supported to do so. Your involvement will also help to develop improved insight into the settlement scheme itself.
