EHRC Wales Annual Review 2015/16: Towards a Fairer Wales
The Equality and Human Rights Commission are pleased to share with you their Wales Review 2015/16 and work-plan for the year ahead: Towards a Fairer Wales – https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/our-work-wales/our-work-wales/wales-review
The Review covers their work over the past year to take the equality and human rights agenda forward. Progress has been achieved because of strong partnerships with organisations and individuals of all kinds.
The Review was published this week and Assembly Members debated the Review in a Plenary Session of the National Assembly on November 1st. You can read the transcript or watch the debate (the final debate on Tuesday 1st November).
Introducing the debate, the Cabinet Secretary for Communities and Children, Carl Sargeant, highlighted the current importance of equality and human rights, saying:
“The EHRC’s annual review provides a valuable overview of the wide and varied work of the Commission over the last year, for which I’m very grateful. I am sure this will be reflected in the diverse range of subjects discussed during this debate, and this demonstrates that equality and human rights are relevant to all aspects of our daily lives, and, as a consequence, an essential component in developing a united, connected and sustainable Wales”.
EHRC look forward to working with you during the next year to speed up progress towards a fairer Wales.
