Cyber-protection warning ahead of GDPR
The Dept for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) has warned businesses and charities to ensure they are protected from cyberattacks before the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force on 25 May 2018. This follows the publication of the DCMS ‘Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2018’, which revealed that around 42% of small businesses and 19% of charities suffered a cyberattack in 2017. The most frequent types of activity by cyber-criminals were sending fraudulent e-mails and impersonating organisations online.
