Creating an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) Aware Youth Workforce for Wales
The ACE Support Hub has been working in partnership with the Welsh Local Government Association, Youth Justice Board, Jain Boon – Theatre Director and supported by CWVYS to develop a free training course for practitioners working in youth and youth justice services across Wales.
The training aims to raise awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences ACEs), their impact on behaviour and provide practitioners with a range of tools to support resilience and self-regulation which will support existing practice.
Practitioners attending the 1-day training course will be nominated by their organisation/service and will be supported to give commitment to attend a further 1-day Train the Trainer course to ensure that the training package is disseminated across organisations.
This free training has been developed for:
- Local Authority Youth workers
- Youth Offending Team staff
- Third Sector Youth Services
- Other workers who engage with young people
Each course will be delivered by Laura Tranter, Community Engagement Relationship Lead, ACE Support Hub and Jain Boon, Theatre Director.
Each session will have a maximum of 30 attendees
