Comic Relief – Care Home Challenge Fund for UK opens for Round 2
UK-based care home providers (both charity and non-charity) can apply now for grants of between £10,000 and £20,000 to deliver activities to improve the wellbeing of residents, and help staff and residents forge stronger relationships.
There is particular interest in activities as an opportunity to build bigger positive change within care homes that will be sustained beyond the life of the funding.
As this initiative sits under Comic Relief’s ‘Health and Wellbeing’ programme area, there is interest in applications which encourage physical or mental activity, movement and increased mobility, social connections and engagement for residents.
Comic Relief expects to make 20 grants of between £10,000 and £20,000 and each grant will reach a maximum of four to five care homes. The grants will last for between 18 and 24 months including time for planning, partnership building and delivery.
Applicants must be UK-based care home providers, registered with the Care Quality Commission, Care Inspectorate (Scotland), Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales or the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (NI).
The closing date for applications is 4 August 2017 (midday).
