Community Organiser / Youth and community organiser – 29th August
£24,730 – £28,404
A fantastic opportunity to join the UK’s longest established community organising charity. TCC tackles social injustice by supporting diverse communities to gain the power they need to enact change. We do this through community organising: bringing together local groups, supporting them to set their own agenda, take action, and improve their communities. Our members are many different faith groups, community organisations, and schools from across Wrexham, Flintshire, and Denbighshire. Any of our members can raise an issue for TCC to work on, meaning we are a truly democratic, grassroots led organisation.
Our youth and community organiser leads our successful work with children and young people. Recently the post-holder has changed to part-time working, meaning there is now the opportunity for someone to join the team, either as a part-time youth and community organiser in a job-share (2 or 3 days), or as a full-time community organiser (4 or 5 days).
Either position will be on a 12 month contract, with the possibility of this being renewed at the end of the period subject to funding and organisational need. Both will require some work with children and young people, leading sessions with schools and groups and supporting young people to take action on issues affecting their own lives.
Please read the job descriptions for more information. For an informal, confidential discussion about the role, please contact TCC’s lead organiser Kay Polley.
