Hayley Hill, Wellbeing Team Manager
Fran Hughes, Wellbeing Development Officer
Fran’s third sector knowledge and experience comes from working for WCVA and DVSC, and volunteering for British Red Cross, Stroke Association, and many other organisations. With a clear understanding of the value of the third sector, Fran supports groups across Flintshire and Wrexham providing health and wellbeing services. This includes developing collaborative projects with the third and public sectors; organising quarterly NEW Wellbeing Network events; and assisting groups with training, funding and communication needs.
Karen Peters, Wellbeing Team Administrator
Karen has worked for FLVC for over 10 years and has extensive knowledge of the local third sector. Karen provides administrative support for the Wellbeing Team, which includes: producing a weekly information e-bulletin disseminated to over 300 representatives from a wide range of organisations; maintaining the Wellbeing Directory on the FLVC website; and assisting with the organisation of the NEW Wellbeing Network events. Karen also provides administrative support and is an Editor for the Dewis Cymru website.
Kim Sheridan, Social Prescribing Officer
Kim’s background is providing advice at Citizens Advice Bureau in the areas of welfare rights, debt advice and employment law. She has comprehensive knowledge of services across Wrexham County Borough Council. Working across GP practices, she takes referrals from primary healthcare team professionals and spends time with patients to understand the non-medical factors impacting on their health and wellbeing. Similar to Kate’s role, she directs patients to the most appropriate third sector services.
Peter Jones, Service Users Reaching Forward (SURF) Coordinator
Pete is a qualified mental health nurse with many years’ experience in the substance misuse field. As SURF Coordinator his aim is to recruit people who are accessing substance misuse services and introduce them to volunteering opportunities. Pete also provides training in drug and alcohol related subjects to people working on the front line, and nursing and social work students at Glyndwr University. Pete has huge insight and has worked extensively with homeless people.
Kate Howard, Third Sector Coordinator – Single Point of Access (SPoA)
Kate has many years of experience in the third sector both as a volunteer and a paid employee at organisations such as Citizen’s Advice Bureau and Wrexham Family Information Service. Her previous roles have covered offering information and advice, and providing mentoring support for individuals. As an experienced advisor sitting in the Flintshire SPoA team, she is able to educate health and social care professionals in the benefits of third sector support, and is also able to work directly with their clients to direct them to the most appropriate third sector services.
