Nominate Your Volunteer Now! Every year, we celebrate volunteers throughout Wrexham and beyond. We are asking people if they would be so kind as to do a small selfie video thanking the volunteers for their time. This video will then be used on AVOW’s Social Media during Volunteers’ week, and would appear at the event itself. We are asking for all videos to be sent before the 31st of May, 2026 We’re asking people to take a short video saying:
“Hello I am [Your Name Here], I want to say a big thank you to all the volunteers in Wrexham for all their hard work this year, and every year”, or similar positive words.
You can include as much or as little information as you like. You can say who you are, and what you do (for example, my name is Bob, and I’m the lead singer of Bob’s Band). You can include some information about Volunteers Week (which you can find below). Ideally the video would be no longer than 2 minutes. Volunteers’ Week is an annual UK-wide campaign held from the first Monday in June to celebrate and recognise the contributions of volunteers. Launched in 1984, this initiative has been running for over 40 years, providing organisations and communities a platform to thank current and past volunteers for their invaluable efforts. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK. In its 40th year, the campaign underwent a rebrand, introducing a vibrant identity to inspire continued engagement.
