- Are you an enthusiastic volunteer?
- Looking to support accessibility to Wrexham City and County Borough?
The AVOW Volunteer Shopmobility Assistant helps us to make Wrexham an accessible city for everyone! We need volunteers to expand our service from only two days per week to five or six days: Your volunteering effort will directly impact the social mobility of local residents.
Shopmobility, based at Wrexham Bus Station, provides affordable access to mobility scooters and wheelchairs for individuals with mobility issues to access Wrexham City Centre. We also have a range of ‘booty’ scooters that fit in the boot of a car and can be hired for longer periods, such as holidays.
As a Volunteer Shopmobility Assistant, you will look after the mobility scooters and ensure they are safe to hire and give basic training to new and existing customers of the service. Volunteers will also complete the administrative duties of the service and liaise with AVOW about the accessibility needs of our customers.
The volunteer will be friendly, enjoy talking to customers, computer literate and practical. Prior experience is not necessary as training will be given. This opportunity provides truly life-changing assistance for our users, so please consider lending a hand!
AVOW Volunteer Shopmobility Assistants will be supervised and supported by existing AVOW personnel. We would love for you to volunteer one or two days a week from 10:00 – 16:00 (with a lunch break)!
- Full Training provided
- AVOW T-shirt and I.D
- Expenses (food, drink & transport)
