A new defibrillator has been installed at the entrance to Tŷ Avow on 21 Egerton Street, Wrexham (LL11 1ND), in memory of John Leece Jones: Former Chair for the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW), who tragically passed away on June 1st, 2021.
John was a tremendous asset to AVOW and is greatly missed by all staff, volunteers and Trustees who knew him in his various roles. His knowledge of Wrexham and the voluntary sector were first-rate, and his devotion to public service was exemplary. He is fondly remembered for his invaluable contributions to Wrexham and the wider community.
The defibrillator was installed by Welsh Ambulance PADS Support Officer Tomos Hughes, BEM – with support from Awyr Las Charity, Cadwch Curiadau, BHF Cymru and Save a Life Cymru. AVOW hopes that this defibrillator will provide the emergency treatment needed to save lives and prevent any further tragedy, should the need ever arise.
