Choose Your Words (Bilingual) Wednesday 02/02/22, 10:00 - 12:00 via Zoom

English/Saesneg

Friday 21st January 10:30 am – 12:00 pm or Monday 24th January 01:00 pm – 2:30 pm

The words we choose have the power to change the world. In Nazi Germany, a generation of young people grew up hearing Jewish people described as being less than human. At the same time, Anne Frank – a 13 year old Jewish girl – wrote a secret diary that would later be an inspiration to millions.

For Holocaust Memorial Day 2022, Community Cohesion Officer Gareth Hall is hosting an interactive session for young people in Wrexham. This session is an opportunity to learn more about why the Holocaust happened, and why that history is still relevant in 2022. To follow Anne Frank’s example, the final part of the session will ask attendees:

“What words would you choose to describe your vision for a better world?”

To confirm your availability and request a link to join for one of the times above, please contact Gareth Hall at: gareth.hall@wrexham.gov.uk

Dewis Geiriau: Sesiwn ryngweithiol i nodi Diwrnod Cofio’r Holocost
Dydd Gwener 21 Ionawr 10:30 am – 12:00 pm neu ddydd Llun, 24 Ionawr 01:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Gall y geiriau a ddefnyddiwn newid y byd. Yn yr Almaen Natsïaidd, cafodd cenhedlaeth o bobl ifanc eu magu i gredu bod pobl Iddewig yn israddol. Yn yr un cyfnod, ysgrifennodd Anne Frank, merch Iddewig 13 oed, ddyddiadur cyfrinachol sydd wedi ysbrydoli miliynau o bobl.

I nodi Diwrnod Cofio’r Holocost 2022, bydd y Caplan Dyneiddiol a’r Swyddog Cydlyniant Cymunedol Gareth Hall yn cynnal sesiwn ryngweithiol ar gyfer pobl ifanc yn Wrecsam, Sir y Fflint a Sir Ddinbych. Mae’r sesiwn hon yn gyfle i ddysgu mwy am pam ddigwyddodd yr Holocaust, a pham bod yr hanes yn parhau i fod yn berthnasol yn 2022. I ddilyn esiampl Anne Frank, bydd rhan olaf y sesiwn yn gofyn i fynychwyr:

“Pa eiriau fyddech chi’n eu defnyddio i ddisgrifio eich gweledigaeth o fyd gwell?”

I gadarnhau eich argaeledd a gwneud cais am ddolen i ymuno ag un o’r amseroedd uchod, cysylltwch â Gareth Hall ar: gareth.hall@wrexham.gov.uk
