The Wrexham Community Lottery is a no-risk, no fees online fundraising solution brought to you by AVOW (The Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham) for the people of Wrexham.
The local lottery is already helping 47 local causes raise unlimited funds all year round. Most local not-for-profit groups can register to start using this online community fundraising solution today! There are no upfront costs, it’s quick and easy to register and once approved you receive:
- Your own webpage on the lottery site
- A no-risk prize structure to help engage your supporters
- A wealth of marketing material and support to help on your fundraising quest
- A steady monthly income for your good cause paid into your bank account
- Plus, if you are registered and approved before the 26th of February you will gain access to the additional national bonus prize to promote to potential new supporters – a £1,000 Sainsbury’s Gift Card!
Your supporters stand a chance of winning cash prizes up to the £25,000 jackpot every week! It’s a win-win, as your loyal supporters aren’t usually in it to win it, they want to help you to help the local community. The chance of a prize is an added bonus!
So, what’s the catch? There is no catch! Lottery tickets are £1 a week and 50% from each ticket purchased supporting your cause gets paid to you every month. A further 10% goes to the central fund, which is used to further support local good causes.
All you need to do is tell as many people as you can to support you through your lottery page. 50 tickets a week will raise £1300 (for example, 50p to cause x 50 tickets x 52 weeks = £1300) annually and on average players usually purchase more than 1 ticket.

We asked Dynamic about their experience with the Wrexham Community Lottery and here is what they had to say:
“Dynamic provides out-of-school activities and holiday programmes for children and young people with disabilities aged 8 -19 years. The children have a range of disabilities to life-limiting illnesses. These sessions are always fun, high energy and a chance for children and young people with disabilities to be with their friends, sadly these are opportunities they cannot get in the wider community.
We also provide a service to young people with disabilities, aged 15-25 who need support to navigate the difficult transitions in their life, such as moving to college, volunteering or employment. Dynamic holds a regular monthly parents/carers group so parents and carers can be with their peers and talk honestly without judgement to develop their own resilience and friendships to help deal with the challenges of parenting and caring for a child with additional needs.
We heard about the lottery through AVOW. We had previously run our own 100 club which had been paused due to COVID. We were looking to relaunch this fundraiser when we heard about this exciting new initiative. There isn’t a particular project or service we are hoping to raise funds for as every year Dynamic has to fundraise for around 50% of our costs just to keep the doors open, this means we have to find £110,000 a year or £2,115 a week – this is a huge task!
It’s early days but we can say that the money raised from the ticket sales has created a regular income of unrestricted funds which is vital for a charity like ours. Just go for it! All the hard work is done for you, all your cause needs to do is promote ticket sales. In the current climate, fundraising opportunities like this are limited and by being part of the lottery you know that your cause is also helping to raise the profile of other causes in your local community.
We’ve had a few Dynamic winners so far and it has been lovely to see the excitement from our supporters. We would definitely encourage everyone to sign up. For just £1 per week, your supporters can win some great cash prizes. Dynamic are looking forward to seeing someone supporting a local Wrexham cause winning the £25k jackpot one day. It really could be you!”
