From the Tu clothing department to Habitat homewares, and of course groceries, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Go into the New Year knowing that you are making a real difference to a good cause and have the chance of winning £1,000 to kick off 2022!

Wrexham Community Lottery is a lottery for the people, by the people of Wrexham. It’s a fun way to help local good causes without giving up precious time. Tickets are £1 a week each, and you get to choose which good cause you would like your donation to go to.

Unlike larger lotteries, 50% 0f each ticket goes to the good cause and 10% goes to the central fund. Another 10% of your ticket purchase comes back into your community, and the odds of winning a prize are much better at an amazing 50:1. It really is a win-win: Even if you don’t win a prize, you can be content in knowing that you are making a real difference to where we live.

Since its launch, the Wrexham Community Lottery has raised more than £660.60 in a month for local charities and so far, more than 47 local groups have signed up as good causes covering a wide range of activities.

One of the local winners who won £250 said, “I started playing the Wrexham Community Lottery to help raise funds for local charities that have been playing such a fantastic role across our community during the pandemic. The win was an extra bonus!”

John Gallanders, Chief Officer of AVOW (the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham, which organises the Wrexham Community Lottery) said, “We are very pleased with the sales of tickets in the first month and are looking forward to the good causes encouraging their supporters to purchase tickets. In year one we are hoping to have generated over £6000 for organisations to assist in all the fantastic work they undertake.”
