Our Voluntary & Community Team Manager Vicky Bolton visited Ysgol Ruabon Sports Centre on Tuesday evening (07/12/21), to present certificates for Outstanding Achievement in Volunteering to several volunteer committee members and coaches of FC United.
These included a certificate presented posthumously – to Michael Hughes, who passed away recently – which was received by his two sons. The certificate was awarded to recognise the commitment and time he had given to the club and as a token of appreciation from both his club colleagues and AVOW.
Other recipients of the awards were: Morgan Churchill, Andrew Ruscoe, Malcolm Wareham and Tom Winsper who were also recognised for the time and effort they give to supporting the club and its members.
FC United’s main sport is futsal, though they also play football. They want to grow the club to help the wider community, attract national attention to the area, tackle sedentary lifestyles, help reduce crime & anti-social behaviour, support people with substance issues, support those with mental health, raise the awareness of futsal and assist in areas of employment and education.
