Tackling Food Poverty Small Grant Scheme

AVOW has been successful in securing funding that benefits residents across the whole of the County Borough. The overall aim of the funding will be to help support organisations that help people who endure various levels of poverty.

As a result, AVOW have set up a small grants scheme for organisations to enable the purchasing of equipment, running costs and products that are not readily available through other various donation schemes.

Applicants should be a legitimate voluntary or community group based and supporting people in Wrexham County Borough.  They will attend, or show a commitment to attending, the Wrexham Poverty Forum and have Volunteering policies and procedures in place.

For organisations that prepare food, staff and volunteers should have a Food Hygiene certificate and the premises registered with the WCBC Environment Department.  The applicant organisation must also have a bank account in the name of the organisation with at least two unrelated signatories.
