Role: Community Buildings Development Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week

The Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW) is the County Voluntary Council for Wrexham providing a wide range of support services for voluntary and community organisations throughout the County.
It is AVOW’s role to support, develop and promote community and voluntary activity. The Development Officer will play a key role in contributing to this work, raising awareness, signposting to other services and linking organisations to each other. The pandemic has adversely affected the income and operations of community buildings with temporary closures and further restrictions on certain activities. This project responds to particular challenges by coordinating support from a wide range of partners with the aim of ensuring the groups running these buildings rebound stronger than before. This position is funded under the Welsh Government Rural Development Programme for a 12-month period.
The successful applicant will show a commitment to, and experience of working in a community environment with a strong background in engaging groups to develop robust and sustainable community buildings throughout Wrexham County Borough. A history of effective project management, partnership working and training experience is also essential.
The location is Wrexham County Borough with some travel to other areas and may involve evening work to attend meetings.
