FREE Gambling Awareness Workshops with the BigDeal

As the Youth Outreach Officer for ARA, we deliver the BigDeal Workshop. This is free training around gambling awareness for both professionals and young people.

In our experience, many adults working with or supporting young people do not have conversations with young people about gambling because it’s not an issue they are aware of, or because they feel they don’t have the knowledge or confidence to do so. These are problems our training aims to resolve. I am able to offer free 1 hour workshops that will cover:

For adults working with or supporting Young People we have a 1-hour session in which staff/volunteers would be able to:

  1. Identify the impacts, signs, and symptoms of a gambling problem
  2. Gain more knowledge on video games and gambling
  3. Interact with a young person about problem gambling and screen for it
  4. Inform young people about where and how to get help.

For young people, we have awareness workshops which run between 45minutes -1hour and involves interactive activities with the outcomes of:

  1. Equipping young people to have the awareness, knowledge, and skills to make safer choices around gambling.
  2. Enabling young people to understand the impact of problem gambling and understand the signs of problem gambling in themselves or someone else
  3. Empowering young people to know where and how to access help.

Please feel free to get back to me and I can arrange for the workshops to take place: Tel: 07951 161 958 or Email: marcskinner@recovery4all.co.uk.
