We’d like to hear your stories.
AVOW COVID Community Showcase
Nominations are now open for the AVOW COVID Community Showcase.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Wrexham Volunteer Centre was redeployed into the AVOW Community COVID-19 Response Team. Through this work, AVOW has been in contact with organisations, community groups, and hundreds of volunteers across the county dedicating time to the community and helping those in need.
We’ve seen help and support for families, friends, and strangers, through shielding, social distancing, and isolation that has made a significant impact in the local community. The nominations aim to showcase some of the work taking place in our community and say ‘Thank You’ to everyone who has played a vital role throughout the pandemic.
How to nominate
You can nominate anyone who has made a difference in the community, with their permission. You can share your story through the online nomination form.
What happens next?
We will collect stories from across the community and compile them into a showcase map of Wrexham County Borough.
Each nomination will receive a certificate from AVOW to say, ‘Thank you’, we hope to present these to the nominees personally at our next event.
Highlights from the nominations will feature on our Website and Social Media pages. A selection of community stories may also appear in any AVOW publications.
Nominations are open until 14th August 2020.
Showcase goes live week commencing 31st August 2020.
Certificates will be presented at a date to be confirmed.
