Be Active Wales Fund

Sport Wales has opened its Be Active Wales Fund supported by Welsh Government and National Lottery players – a £4m pot of funding which will help support clubs and small organisations to protect and prepare their sports offer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Be Active Wales Fund [BAWF] is a brand new fund managed by Sport Wales that’s been designed to allow clubs and organisations offering sport and physical opportunities across Wales impacted by Covid-19 to apply for Funding of up to £50,000. The Fund will support clubs and organisations across Wales while they remain closed to the public and also help them to prepare for their reopening, enabling them to adapt their offer as restrictions change to help retain and attract interest.

This is to ensure as many clubs and organisations offering opportunities for people to enjoy being physically active survive the pandemic and are able to welcome people again when it is safe to do so. The benefits of being physically active are so wide-ranging we want to make sure as many communities across Wales have access to a range of enjoyable opportunities to be active safely and this Fund will help ensure that happens.
