Cancer Care Tele-friend Service with Tenovus

What is the Tele-Friend service?

Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, lots of people are self-isolating, and we know from a lot of people we support or who support us here at Tenovus Cancer Care, that this can be a lonely time.

We want to make sure we help you as much as we can through these difficult times.

Our Tele-Friend volunteers will arrange regular phone calls to help lift spirits and give people the chance to chat to someone friendly outside of their home.

How it will work?

A volunteer Tele-Friend will be matched with someone wanting a nic uplifting chat. We’ll then make sure we agree on the best method of communication for both of you. This may be phone calls, Skype, or if you have a hearing loss you may want to use Next Generation Text (NGT)

How do I sign-up to receive help?

If you’d like to sign-up to be matched to a Tele-Friend, visit the Tenovus website.

Please complete the signup form on their website. For more information on this or how we can support you at this time please call us for free on 0808 808 1010.
