Thirds Sector discuss grant management with Welsh Government
Some WCVA members had reported concerns about their grant funding from Welsh Government, so a meeting was convened to discuss the recent changes.
The meeting was chaired by Phil Jarrold, Acting Chief Executive of WCVA, who opened the meeting with his aims for the meeting: to have an interactive conversation about funding trends, policy shifts, problems with processes, and to look across funding schemes at changes.
Paul Dear introduced the revised Third Sector Scheme and the new Code of Practice for Funding the Third Sector – produced jointly by Welsh Government and the TSPC and the Funding and Compliance Sub-committee. It was recognised that many third sector organisations had direct relationships with Welsh Government, in which the Third Sector Unit was not involved, but explained that a group of senior civil servants in Welsh Government met regularly to maintain overview of Welsh Government’s relationship with the third sector.
