STAFF AT WREXHAM MAELOR ENCOURAGE THEIR PATIENTS TO SIGN UP FREE STOP SMOKING SUPPORT ON WED 27TH SEPTEMBER
Smoke Free Wrexham and the respiratory team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital will be using the run up to Stoptober to encourage their patients to quit smoking. Stop smoking advisors and pharmacists will be on hand at the main reception of the hospital throughout the day and they will be encouraging people to sign up for quit kits and providing advice to those wanting to quit this October.
“Delyth Jones is the tobacco lead for Public Health in north Wales, “You’ll feel the benefits of stopping smoking from the very first day. It’s not just about saving money. You’ll drastically improve your overall health; reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer.”
Stopping smoking can also help you to focus on more positive activities in your life. Your improved lung capacity will help you to become more physically active. This in turn can have a beneficial impact on your mental health and wellbeing.
Smokers from across north Wales are being encouraged to visit the www.quit.wales website and Facebook page. This is a one-stop-shop offering smokers the choice to sign up for support that suits them locally, whether it’s a free Quit Kit, a comprehensive guide to local services or download vouchers that can be redeemed at local participating pharmacies for Nicotine replacement therapy and support.
Quit for Them is a social marketing campaign targeting smokers on Facebook throughout north Wales and all smokers are being encouraged to like the page so that they can receive support and advice around quitting smoking.
