Research about community transport needs in Wrexham
TAS are Passenger Transport Specialists working with Wrexham County Borough Council and third sector organisations to identify community transport needs in Wrexham for the benefit of local people. We are researching the need for community transport and related support in Wrexham and particularly how it contributes to voluntary sector activities and community life in general. We want to identify transport needs, including transport needs that are not currently being met. This information will influence the future plans for community transport in Wrexham.
“Community transport” is what we call any of a range of services providing low-cost and accessible transport for individuals with a mobility restriction and community groups. This might be a
– dial-a-ride or dial-a-bus service;
– rural demand responsive transport;
– a voluntary car scheme;
– group travel minibus facility;
– other more specialist services such as Shopmobility (scooter and wheelchair hire) or Wheels to Work
Usually the services are not-for-profit and only available to users who are eligible.
This survey should take a maximum of 10 minutes (shorter for most). It includes an opportunity for you to tell us in your own words about any transport or mobility issues you think are significant.
Please contact either Nick Dangerfield or John Atkins at TAS if you have a query about the questionnaire.
