We’re pleased to tell you that our project proposal ‘Skill Me 4 Work’ is through to the final voting stage of the RBS ‘Skills and Opportunities’ funding programme. In the last round of RBS Skills and Opportunities Funding, there were no projects in Wales selected. In this round, Skill Me 4 Work is the only project in North Wales.
‘Skill Me 4 Work’ will provide 336 young people aged 16 – 18 who have left school with few or no qualifications with the chance to gain 3 accredited work-related qualifications. They will be able to choose from a ‘menu’ including Emergency First Aid, Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Manual Handling and Food Safety. These qualifications will add to their self-confidence, enhance their CVs, improve their chances of moving into work – and will also be useful to them in their everyday lives.
Young people across the whole 6 counties of North Wales stand to gain from this project, if it is selected for funding. The decision panel will be influenced by the number of votes cast in favour.
To cast your vote, please go to:- http://skillsandopportunitiesfund.rbs.com/vote/vote-in-south-west-and-wales.html and click on the Groundwork North Wales logo below the map. This gives a short description of the project and opens the voting button.
Please vote for our project, and help to bring this opportunity to some of our young people in North Wales, and we’d very much appreciate it if you would be kind enough to forward this message to your contacts.
