New NHS Accessible Screening Information
I am writing to inform you of an exciting new suite of accessible screening information that has been developed and is now available.
This information includes:
- Easy read leaflets for each of the adult screening programmes : Breast, cervical, bowel and abdominal aortic aneurysm screening (available in A4 and A5 formats)
- Audio versions of each leaflet
- BSL versions of each leaflet
- A bowel screening film explaining how to do the test kit and what happens following a positive result. These films are available in BSL.
This information can be accessed via the Screening for Life website: www.screeningforlife.wales.nhs.uk/accessible-information
This new set of resources aims to provide information about screening in a simple and accessible way. The information has been designed to help improve understanding of screening processes for people who do not speak English as their first language, do not read English very well, for people with a sensory loss / impairment, or for people who have an additional communication need.
Please find enclosed a sample of the leaflets available. If you would like any additional leaflets please complete the Information Request Form. Alternatively you can download the leaflets from the website.
Thank you for your support in helping to raise awareness of the importance of screening.
