Menter Iontach Nua Masterclass: Governance and Social Enterprise
Effective governance is a prerequisite for effective social enterprises as with any other organisation. How do you ensure that your board has the talents, balance and decision making to work with your senior management team to let you manage risk and deliver an effective strategy? Does the different, commercial risk profile of a social enterprise demand a different type of board? What does good governance mean and how can you engineer it as a senior manager?
Ilene Hoyle is an experienced governance consultant and has helped many charities and enterprises to improve their boards and working relationships with management. This Masterclass will also include a session by Jenny Berry of ACEVO, talking about their Governance Commission report and helpline service, and Matt Brown of WCVA who will talk about what they expect from a board when agreeing social investment finance. It will be a participative session, and we would welcome you bringing a board member with you!
The Masterclass will take place at Porter’s, CAIS’s new building on Station Road in Colwyn Bay on Wednesday the 12th March from 9.30am to 2.00pm. It includes lunch and is free, but it is necessary to fill in a participant form to attend. Please register through Eventbrite: <>
