On behalf of Alun Davies AM, the Welsh Government’s Minister for Natural Resources and Food, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend our conference: Maximising the Opportunities of Community Benefit Funds from Onshore Wind.
The event will raise awareness of the potential of future community benefit packages in Wales. It will look at encouraging greater collaboration and innovative approaches in developing packages that can deliver long-term and sustainable outcomes for onshore wind host communities.
As well as hearing from expert speakers the event will provide an excellent networking opportunity with attendees from across the Third Sector, public bodies, all levels of government, and onshore wind developers. In addition the event will include the formal launch of the Welsh Government’s Register of Economic and Community Benefits from Onshore Wind.
The event will be chaired by Peter Davies, Wales’ Commissioner for Sustainable Futures, and speakers will include:
- Alun Davies AM, Minister for Natural Resources & Food
- Giles Ruck, Chief Executive of Foundation Scotland
- Rachel Searle-Mbulu, Head of Community Investment at Foundation Scotland
- Piers Guy, UK Development Director at Vattenfall
- Renewables UK Cymru
Further speakers and a full programme for the day will be confirmed prior to the event.
Lunch will be provided, as will tea and coffee throughout the day.
