It is with great sadness that AVOW has to announce that Marjorie Dykins has died.
Marjorie was a trustee and a founder member of AVOW. She also served as the Company Secretary of AVOW.
Marjorie devoted a considerable portion of her life to the Voluntary Sector, both locally and nationally. Marjorie was formerly Chair of the Wales Council for Voluntary Action and was actively involved in the setting up of the Welsh Assembly Civil Service.
She was heavily involved in a number of local organisations and church groups and had also served as Chair of Wrexham Citizens Advice Bureau.
Marjorie’s service was recognized in 1996 when she was awarded the OBE for her services to the Voluntary Sector in Wales.
Marjorie’s extensive interest in the voluntary sector made a real impact and a valuable difference to the third sector, not only in Wrexham, but throughout Wales.
