Volunteering can change your life bringing lots of benefits such as skills, experience, meeting new people, improvement of self-confidence and recognition. AVOW volunteers have recently been presented with awards for their outstanding volunteering and Committment to Learning.
Louise Bollington has won a High Sherriff Award for volunteering for AVOW’s Wrexham Carers Service for nearly 4 years. The award was presented by the High Sherriff in March 2013. Louise provides a FREE, one to one counselling service to Carers living in Wrexham County Borough. These sessions provide Carers with an opportunity to offload the stresses and strains that caring can have on their own emotional well-being. Louise has also assisted at many events and activities over the years. Her dedication to the service and the individuals she supports is incredible.
Louise said: “I feel very proud and privileged that AVOW has given me the opportunity to serve my community. It makes me very humbled and happy to have been chosen for the High Sheriff Award”.
