Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day on the 27th January 2015 is a national commemoration day in the United Kingdom dedicated to the remembrance of those who suffered in The Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in subsequent genocides in other countries in the world.

The chosen date is the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp in 1945.

The Mayor and Mayoress (Councillor Alan and Mrs. Glenys Edwards) will attend a local memorial event to be held in Ty AVOW, Wrexham on Tuesday 27th January 2015 at 1.30pm.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2015 is “Keep the memory alive”.

We are also hosting a Dove Making session on Friday 23rd January at Ty Avow, 21 Egerton Street from 10am-1.30pm – drop in if you want to help out.
