Helping Hands are Making a Difference
Celebration of Make a difference
William Aston Hall 7.00pm 22nd November 2013
As an organisation that is MAD (making a difference) in Wrexham County Borough, we would like to invite you to a fantastic celebration of voluntary action. The event is being arranged by AVOW to celebrate our Silver Jubilee and the contribution of voluntary and community organisations like yours in the life of Wrexham County Borough over the past 150 years. Your organisation has been identified as playing a significant part over this period.
The evening will be an extravaganza of music, singing and dancing through 150 years depicting many of the key events during the period including World War 1 and 2, Gresford Disaster, the creation of local Health and Educational establishments etc along with sketches and other pieces reflecting everyday life.
We will be asking representatives from organisations participating to take part in various elements of the evening during which your organisation will have the opportunity of raising its profile to 100’s of people.
Our theme will be how organisations provide helping hands to MAD-make a difference in the lives of others.
There will be an opportunity for your staff, volunteers and service users to attend and be in the audience (details will follow soon).
We are especially looking for any organisations that have a mascot as there will be a special ‘guest appearance’ event for them to take part in with other mascots. If you don’t currently have a mascot now is your time to think about one as they really are fantastic ways of getting noticed at public events. If you are part of a national group we hope that this early notice gives you time to arrange for yours to be in Wrexham.
We would like as many people as possible to take part in this event and if you feel that your organisation has a particularly historical event worth highlighting please contact John Gallanders. Historical information could also be included in an exhibition of volunteering that will be held in October in the former JJB store in Regent Street.
If you would like to be a part of the planning for the event please email firstname.lastname@example.org or Tel 01978 312556.
More importantly can your organisation afford not to be present?
