Help to develop a new Scheme for Older People – ‘Living Memory’
The aim of the ‘Living Memory’ scheme is to utilise the potential of the National Library of Wales (NLW) graphic and audio-visual collections to unlock memories and to facilitate reminiscence therapy with older people and those living with dementia. The scheme also highlights the wealth of digital resources which can be accessed on the NLW Website – photographic collections, Welsh newspapers and Journals online, Tithe maps, films, videos, sound recordings, etc.
Having piloted the scheme with Older People Mental Health wards of Hywel Dda Health Board, as well as Ceredigion Crossroads, we now want to assess the interest in rolling out the ‘Living Memory’ scheme to organisations working with older people throughout Wales.
To this end, I’m asking for your support by taking part in an online consultation which can be accessed from this link: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LLGCAB/
The consultation will help us determine what resources are currently available and what extra equipment you might need to deliver the scheme. If there is sufficient evidence of interest in the scheme, the consultation responses will form the basis of an application for support to fund equipment and resources.
